Work in Progress, The Harpy
Hey guys! Here comes another random blog post by your friendly neighbourhood Idromy.
I’ve been working on the harpy since mid-august, scavenging for materials I could use for the wings.
And I’m feel like I’m finally getting a good clear picture of how it’ll look.
I’m actually making a 2 in one version.
The entire Harpy’s body will be that of the Harpy in the third Witcher game, while I’m also making the small cloak featured in an artwork of The Witcher 2.They are pretty foul looking monsters, however I love their wrinkling greasy looks anyway. Plus I have a legitimate excuse to steal shiny things or food from you at a convention, make strange chicken like noises, and be an overall weirdo exuding my love for both The Witcher universe and monsters.
As always i like to get the most boring job of my cosplay done first.
I do this to avoid later problems, because the further your cosplay evolves, the less you want to do that one repetitive job. In this case it was making 38 eva foam feathers each between 70 and 100 cm long.
I have made a step by step tutorial that will be posted later on how i made them.
During my free evenings and convention days i also started sculpting and molding some body parts, starting with the face ( isn't she pretty) and torso. Sculpt work is done in water based clay.
